Mountain weather can be very unpredictable, so the trick is to always be prepared. Dress in layers so that you can add or subtract for comfort. For colder temperatures in the early mornings and evenings, add an extra layer. During the day or summer months, just subtract layers until comfortable.

Traditionally, West Yellowstone is a very sunny place. Anytime during the season, the sun at this altitude is intense. It is wise to bring sunscreen and a hat for shade.

Springtime tends to be the most wet and cloudy. Fall is crisp, cool and frequently sunny.
