Greetings
from Parade Rest Guest Ranch!
A winter calm has settled over ranch. As you can see the
ranch is covered in snow as it has been snowing since early
December. By the end of February, we have received over 8
feet of snow. The horses are away at a lower altitude where
the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and
-- accessible.
Life at the ranch during the winter is quiet and beautiful.
Moose, elk, coyote and buffalo wander in, out and around the
ranch just like they are guests. Three antelope missed the
winter migration and have been seen trying to find their
friends to no avail. Access is like traveling through a
tunnel of snow banks. We appreciate the snow and moisture as
we expect the rivers and creeks to be full and the land to
be green this spring.
Most of our former employees from the 2007 season will be
returning in May. They tell me they are anxious to return to
see their extended family and friends. Larry and I stay here
at the ranch over the winter sharing information and taking
reservations for the forthcoming season.
If you haven’t made a commitment for a summer vacation,
family reunion, or a fishing getaway, we still have openings
throughout the summer. The ranch opens May 20 and closes the
end of September.
We invite you to consider some time with us at the ranch as
a return guest or for the first time. We are anxious to
share this awesome experience of Yellowstone Country
with you.
Until we meet,
Marge Wanner, Ranch Manager
